[DAWN@Rio+20] Rio Centro Action: Silent Protest

June 17, Rio Centro- DAWN Rio+20 team members from the Pacific Maureen Penjueli of the Pacific Network on Globalisation (PANG) and Noelene Nabulivou of DAWN, both from the Pacific, protested along with  Ibon, APWLD, and other south CSO networks by sealing their months with tape. The message of the silent protest was clear: to put human rights at the center of sustainable development!

Nabulivou and Penjuelli raised signs that read, "Free the 15!", which is a campaign to free 14 Cambodian women and one man who have arrested and sentenced for defending their land rights in Cambodia's Boeung Kak Lake. They also raised the "Say No to Seabed Mining", and "Gender, economic and ecological justice for all!'  This silent protest also attended by Ibon, APWLD, and other south CSO networks.
