June 29, Tuesday, Philippine President-elect Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, named the members of his Cabinet, one of whom is Dr. Patricia Licuanan, former President of Miriam College, a leading all-women's college in the Philippines, and former Chair of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. She has been appointed as the new Chair of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Before stepping down as President of the College recently, Dr. Licuanan or "Tatti" to her friends and colleagues, supported the transfer of DAWN secretariat to Manila last year and opened the doors of Miriam to be its new home.
